Sponsor Believe

Believe is a jolly little boy with a big, bright smile. He has a large group of friends, all of whom started school last February in “Baby” class – the first year of nursery school.

His teacher says Believe is a class leader who is thoughtful and caring. He shares his snacks with his friends. So far, Believe has been the first or second ranked student in the Baby class.

Believe is lucky to have both parents at home. However, there is not much money. His father is a “boda-boda” driver. Boda-bodas are functionally motorcycle versions of taxis. The average driver makes about $6 per day. It buys some food, but it is not enough to pay student fees at any nursery school. It is also a very risky job. Boda-boda drivers are often injured in traffic crashes, requiring long-term recuperation, and not uncommonly, permanent injuries – sometimes even death.

Believe is now six years old and an only child. Who knows whether he will become an astronaut, a politician or a baker. The whole world is in front of him, and we bet he will keep sharing his snacks all the way.
