6 Steps to a Spotless Kitchen in 30 Minutes!

5 steps to a spotless kitchen in 30 minutes

The kitchen is the one room in my house that we use all the time! A clean kitchen = A Happy Mom! I have found that a clean kitchen, even with other parts of the house a mess, can make or break a day. Our family is calmer and happier with a clean place to eat, come together, and enjoy family dinner time together.

I’ve found a clean kitchen routine that works for us…without fail…if we keep it up, we have a happier home=happier family members. If you do these 6 steps each day, your kitchen will stay sparkling clean all week.

I also find that if I do these 6 steps in this order, it just makes sense. For example, it’s easier to clean the counters after the dishes are done, and easier to clean the floors after the counters are cleaned…hence the method to my madness.

Step 1:  Dishes in 5 minutes.

Each night we do the dishes and start the dishwasher. In the morning, I do a quick unload job and load up our breakfast dishes. This usually only takes 5 minutes, and makes my day less hectic. If I wait to unload it until later, the dishes pile up and our evening chores take longer.

Step 2:  A clean sink in 5 minutes.

I love a clean sink. Your kitchen will smell fresh if you clean your sink daily. After loading the dishwasher, I put a little cleaner in both sinks, and scrub away. I make sure to brush over the drains. I also run my disposal for 20 seconds with hot water. If you have lemon or orange peels, those are great to add to your disposal.

Step 3: Wipe down appliances in 5 minutes.

With this few minutes a day, it saves a lot of clean up time each week if I wipe down the stovetop, and kitchen appliances daily. Just do a quick sweep to remove that cooked on water and food. You can also quickly wipe down the microwave inside and out, and peek inside the fridge for any spills. It’s much harder to clean when food and liquids have been sitting for a week or so.

Step 4: Wipe down counters in 5 minutes.

After the dishes are put away, quickly wipe the counters down. A trick that I use to make it quicker…baby wipes! I take a baby wipe and clear off crumbs. Then when I use my sponge/washcloth it makes for a quicker job! It’s so nice to have clean counters for the next meal you will be making or serving.

Step 5: Straighten drawers or cabinets in 5 minutes.

No matter how organized the drawers start out, they get so cluttered in just a few days! Just choose one or two drawers or cupboards to straighten each day. (you can pass on the tupperware one…can that one ever be saved!)  This saves me from a huge day of organizing the kitchen tools that get misplaced.

Step 6:  Sweep or Vacuum Kitchen Floor in 5 minutes.

This step is my favorite. I have walnut wood floors throughout my kitchen and dining area. They are so pretty…but can be a beast! Every crumb shows! Well friends…I have to tell you my new secret, I don’t even sweep! I vacuum with the new Dyson V6 Absolute. It is a cordless vacuum that is AMAZING. I know you have heard of a Dyson vacuum, and I was so excited to try this out. I love it. It hangs right in my pantry, charged up and ready to tackle the next mess….which can be 3 or more times a day. It is so light weight and even my kids can help. You will have to read more about this amazing vacuum below and how you can get one this weekend for an awesome price! I love that you can use it on carpet…or any surface. And the attachment tools are the icing on the cake!

And that is how I keep up with the kitchen madness. I can’t say much for the other rooms in my house, but when my kitchen is clean, I can breathe a sigh of relief!

The V6 Absolute has two cleaner heads complete with HEPA filtration and is designed to tackle all floor types. It provides the power of a corded upright and reinvents the way you tackle dirt, with cord-free convenience. For the first time in the US, the machine will be available in two new colors: black and blue. The hero color will be red.

Big debris or microscopic dust? Most vacuum cleaners suck up one or the other, leaving either crevices full of dust or piles of Cheerios snow ploughed to the wall. Dyson’s latest cordless machine reinvents the way you tackle dirt, big and small, ensuring particles of all sizes are sucked up and flung into the bin. HEPA Filtration to capture allergens and expel cleaner air. Removes 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns.

The problem:

To pick-up fine dust, a machine needs to have a tight all-round seal to the floor. Keeping this seal means that larger particles, like rice or large cereals, pile up in front of the machine. Introduce a gap for this large debris and the machine is no longer sealed, the suction drops, and fine dust is left behind.

 The solution:

Using a soft roller cleaner head, Dyson engineers have radically redesigned the traditional cleaner head so that it tackles both big and small debris. Rather than strips of hard bristles, the soft roller cleaner head has a full width roller, covered with a soft nylon material and rows of carbon fiber filaments.

Large debris are enveloped by the soft material and flung inside the cleaner head, while the antistatic qualities of the carbon fiber filaments gently remove fine dust, without damaging floors.

James Dyson said, “To engineer a machine that tackles both fine dust and larger debris, like Cheerios, we needed to change the way we pick-up the dirt from the floor. The power of our patented V6 Dyson Digital Motor, combined with our revolutionised cleaner head, means V6 Absolute can tackle dust and that pesky cereal.”

V6 Absolute is also the first cordless machine to include two Dyson engineered cleaner heads: soft roller cleaner head, as well as Motorhead. The soft roller cleaner head uses a larger roller covered in soft woven nylon, while Motorhead features a second, direct drive motor and stiff nylon bristles for powerful performance on carpets.
